Overview

CGR Products provides high-speed, high-precision custom rotary die cutting for non-metallic materials, foams, rubbers, and pressure-sensitive adhesives. Operating individual servo-controlled multi-station rotary presses (including Delta Modtech machinery), CGR combines inline laminating, slitting, and precision kiss-cutting in a single continuous pass for high-volume OEM manufacturing.

High Speed Rotary Die Cutting Machine

Core Rotary Cutting Capabilities

  • Inline Multi-Stage Converting: Combine laminating, slitting, and shape-stamping in a single automated run. Apply pressure-sensitive adhesives (such as 3M™ VHB™ Tapes) directly to raw foam or rubber substrates right on the line before final die stamping.

  • Heated Rotary Die Sealing: Specialized heated cylindrical dies perimeter-seal acoustic and thermal insulation materials (like 3M™ Thinsulate™) or permanently fuse multiple layered materials during high-speed production.

  • High-Precision Kiss-Cutting: Cuts through face material and adhesive down to the release liner without penetrating the backing, producing continuous rolls or sheets for effortless “peel and stick” assembly line application.

  • Individual Servo Controls: Independent station speeds maximize material yield, minimize scrap, and maintain ultra-tight tolerances on complex, multi-layered components.

Engineering & Capability FAQ

Can rotary die cutting combine multiple operations like laminating and slitting into a single run?

  • Yes. One of the greatest advantages of rotary die cutting is its ability to perform inline multi-stage converting, including laminating, slitting, and cutting in a single pass.
  • Because the material moves continuously through rolling cylindrical dies, we can introduce pressure-sensitive adhesives (such as 3M VHB Tapes) to a raw foam or rubber substrate right on the line before the final shape is stamped. Additionally, our facilities feature specialized heated rotary dies. This unique capability allows us to heat-seal complex acoustic or thermal insulation materials—like 3M Thinsulate™—or permanently fuse multiple distinct material layers together during high-speed production runs.

How does kiss-cutting work on a rotary press for “peel and stick” gasket applications?

  • Rotary kiss-cutting precisely cuts through the face material and adhesive layer down to, but not through, the underlying release liner.
  • This high-speed precision creates a continuous roll or sheet of finished parts that operators can easily pull off for effortless “peel and stick” application during final assembly. Rotary cutting is the absolute best method for high-volume kiss-cut orders because the rolling cylindrical dies maintain a perfectly uniform depth pressure. This eliminates the risk of slicing through the backing paper, ensuring a clean, reliable release on the factory floor.

What are the material width and processing limits for high-speed rotary die cutting?

  • CGR Products can accommodate custom rotary dies up to 16″ wide across our high-volume production lines.
  • Our advanced equipment includes individual servo-controlled multi-station rotary systems (such as our high-volume Delta Modtech machinery). These servo controls allow us to run independent speeds at each die station, maximizing material savings and allowing for exceptionally tight tolerances on multi-layered parts. For components that exceed our 16″ rotary width threshold, we can easily transition your project to our large-format flatbed die-cutting presses to ensure seamless scaling.
